Our Mission

A better future for people, animals and nature

Our goal is to eliminate all anti-flea and anti-tick products that contain toxic (banned) pesticides that are harmful to the health of your pet, your family and the environment.

Unbelievable but true: Flea collars and anti-flea drops are, according to scientific studies, partly responsible for the poisoning of large rivers and the deaths of billions of bees, birds, butterflies as well as dogs and cats!

Prohibited pesticides

The most common tick and flea control products have even been banned by the European Commission for ANY use except in anti-flea products for pets!

These include the very harmful fipronil, flumetrin, imidaclorid or diazinon. These substances can cause nerve damage, organ failure, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and skin complaints in children, (domestic) animals and adults alike.

Together We Stand Strong!

100% Natural

For us it is incomprehensible and unacceptable that these toxins are still used in anti-flea and tick products and that the (often ignorant) consumer accepts this. We are therefore committed daily to getting these dangerous flea products off the market altogether.

We do this in part by working to raise awareness among dog and cat owners, by using only 100% natural animal-friendly ingredients ourselves and by constantly putting pressure on the media and politicians.

Below are some of the most commonly used drops and bands along with a description of the toxic (banned) pesticides.

Imidacloprid

Advantage is one of the most widely sold flea drops in the Netherlands and Belgium for dogs and cats. While it is marketed under a different name than Seresto, it is not entirely surprisingly also part of chemicals multinational Bayer/ Monsanto.

The active ingredient of Advantage is banned for any use in the EU except for use in flea products for pets😲😡.

Fipronil and Diazinon

Beaphar has a wide range of flea baths and flea drops. Many of these products contain Diazinon and/or Fipronil.

Diazinon is highly toxic and many cats have died or been paralyzed here. Diazinon is extremely toxic and deadly to birds and fish that come into contact with Diazinon (indirectly), even in minimal amounts.

Diazinon can interfere with nervous system function, resulting in foaming, convulsions and weakened breathing (similar to epileptic seizures).

Because of its high toxicity, Diazinon has been banned from use as a plant protection product for many years, but oddly enough, its use in flea collars is just allowed in the Netherlands.

In France, where they are ahead of the BeNeLux in this, this toxic pesticide in flea collars and drops is WELL banned because of the great danger children face when exposed to Diazinon. Source: Knack

Recent publications in Dutch quality newspapers show that in some cases pet owners were found to have such large amounts of Fipronil in their bodies that these amounts had to be classified as "chemical waste.Source: Trouw

Imidacloprid and Flumethrin

Seresto is the most popular flea collar in the Netherlands and Belgium. The manufacturer of these flea collars is one of the largest chemical companies in the world: Bayer. This multinational is known, among other things, for the now banned herbicide Roundup through their subsidiary company Monsanto (yes, that one). The active ingredients used in Seresto are banned from use throughout the European Union because of the great harm they do to the environment and to (domestic) animals. Horrific examples include the deaths of billions of bees (Source), butterflies (Source), birds and fish (Source).

A well-known U.S. news bulletin recently revealed a study showing that Seresto flea collars are responsible for the deaths of more than 1,700 dogs and cats, as well as 75,000 related serious health issues in these pets and their owners.

Following publication of this investigation by another respected weekly magazine, Business Insider, the U.S. Congress set up a commission of inquiry and called on Bayer to immediately withdraw Seresto collars from the market. Source: Business Insider

Fipronil

Frontline is one of the most popular flea drops in the Netherlands and Belgium. The main ingredient in it is the life-threatening Fipronil, known from the 2017 "Fipronil affair" in which millions of chickens had to be killed, and hundreds of poultry farms were shut down. The two men who circulated this highly toxic (banned) pesticide have since been sentenced to long prison terms. Source: De Volkskrant

Fipronil is strictly banned because of its extreme toxicity and damage to the environment. In addition, Fipronil is also very dangerous to pet owners themselves, and even in minute quantities can cause cancer, hormone disruption and nerve damage.

A survey of pet owners found alarmingly high levels of Fipronil in the DNA of a substantial portion of the adults surveyed, which was found to exceed allowable levels and government standards by many thousands of percent! Source: Wed..
